UNS N09901Alloy properties:
HuaNickel UNS N09901 alloy has no notch sensitivity after standard heat treatment and long-term aging in the range of 550°C~750°C. However, when forging, if the process parameters are not selected or operated properly, long strips or flakes of harmful phase Ti₂SC and large granular boride and Ti(CN) phases can be precipitated at grain boundaries after standard heat treatment, resulting in notch sensitivity during long-lasting testing, and it is impossible to eliminate notch sensitivity through heat treatment, but can only be re-thermally processed and deformed to obtain a suitable structure. The coefficient of expansion of the alloy is close to that of ferritic hot-strength alloy steels, which allows the two materials to be joined without special regulations for thermal expansion.
UNS N09901Uses of alloys:
UNS N09901 alloy has been used to make rotating parts and fasteners for aero engines and ground gas turbines, and the alloy parts have a long service life.
UNS N09901Process performance:
Welding process: TIG welding is possible with UNS N09901 alloy welding wire
Cutting: Use carbide tools, which should have a positive inclination angle and keep the knife edge sharp. Sulfur-based oil lubrication is recommended, but must be removed before heating at high temperatures. Attention should be paid to the grinding direction in the grinding process to avoid residual tensile stress on the surface of the part, and shot peening should be carried out if it cannot be avoided.
