Haynes 242 Alloy properties:
Compared with the aforementioned 00Mo24Ni60Cr8Fe6 (Hastelloy B10) alloy, this alloy not only has a low iron content, but also contains other elements other than nickel, molybdenum, and chromium such as cobalt.
Oxidation resistance: HuaNickelHaynes 242 alloy has good oxidation resistance at ≤ 815°C, so it can be used continuously or
No surface protection is required under intermittent operating conditions.
Haynes 242 Uses of alloys:
Haynes 242 (Haynes242) alloy is used as a high-temperature (heat-resistant) alloy, which can be used in the aerospace industry after solution + aging treatment, and if it is used as a corrosion-resistant alloy, it is in a solid solution treated state, and its use is basically similar to the above-mentioned 00Mo24Ni60Cr8Fe6 (Hastelloy B10) alloy. It can be used in environments that are resistant to hydrofluoric acid and fluoride molten salts. Due to the high strength of this alloy, it has been used with good results in fluoride corrosion-resistant parts and components that require high strength.
Haynes 242 Process performance:
Welding process: Haynes 242 alloy has good welding properties, the alloy can be welded in a solution state by GTAW and GMAW processes, it is recommended to use a chemically matched wire.
Heat treatment: Haynes 242 alloy is subjected to final heat treatment. The heat treatment process is 925~1120°C heating and insulation, and then air cooling or water cooling (large cross-sectional size). The aging temperature of the alloy after solution treatment is 650 °C× and it is 24~48h after heat preservation and air cooling.
