HuaNickel alloy 686 is a single-phase austenitic nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy with excellent corrosion resistance in a range of severe environments, with its high nickel (Ni) and molybdenum (Mo) providing good resistance under reducing conditions, while high chromium (Cr) has oxidation resistance and media molybdenum (Mo) and tungsten (W) auxiliaries resist localized corrosion.

Alloy686Alloy properties:

Corrosion Resistance : Alloy686 provides outstanding resistance to general corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, and pitting and crevice corrosion. It resists intergranular precipitation during welding and maintains its corrosion resistance in the heat-affected zone of the welded joint. It provides resistance to solutions of reduced and oxidized acids and mixed acids. It is particularly suitable for the treatment of mixed acids containing high concentrations of halides. It exhibits good resistance to mixed acid media with a pH level of 1 or below and chloride levels above 100,000 ppm.

High-temperature strength: The alloy exhibits excellent high-temperature strength, allowing it to work stably in extremely high-temperature, high-pressure environments. This property makes Alloy686 an ideal material for high-temperature components such as engines, gas turbines, combustion chambers and turbine blades.

Alloy686Uses of alloys:

HuaNickel Alloy686 alloy excels in several demanding industrial applications due to its excellent corrosion resistance, high-temperature strength, and good mechanical properties. It is mainly used for heat exchangers, reaction vessels and conveyor pipes in chemical treatment, pollution control, papermaking, industrial and municipal waste treatment. It is also widely used in aerospace, petrochemical, energy and other fields, especially in harsh environments that require circulating heating and cooling.

Alloy686Process performance:

Welding process: Alloy686 is easy to weld and does not require post-weld heat treatment to restore corrosion resistance. The recommended welding products are Protective Metal Arc Electrode and Gas Tungsten Arc Electrode 686CPT.

Manufacturing: Alloy686 is easy to manufacture. The forming operation can be used with standard methods for other high-nickel alloys such as conconel C-276, 22 and 625. Work hardening during cold forming may make intermediate annealing necessary. Thermoforming should be between 1600-2250°F (870 and 1230°C) and all reforming should be above 2000°F (1090°C). Alloy686 typically cools rapidly at 2150-2200°F (11801200°C).
