HuaNickel 2.4603 alloy is developed on the basis of 00Cr22Ni48Mo7Cu2Nb alloy by increasing the chromium content to 30%, reducing molybdenum and adding an appropriate amount of tungsten. Due to the high chromium content, the main corrosion resistance of this alloy is that the performance of H₃PO₄ containing Cl- and F- is significantly better than that of 00Cr22Ni48Mo7Cu2Nb alloy. It also has excellent corrosion resistance in nitric acid + hydrofluoric acid, sulfuric acid + hydrofluoric acid. The alloy can be used in evaporators in the wet phosphoric acid industry, as well as in acid mixing equipment and components for pickling stainless steel HNO₃+HF. This alloy can also be used in corrosion-resistant equipment in the production of nuclear fuel.

2.4603Alloy properties:

Very little chromium carbide is precipitated in this alloy. Due to the high chromium content, there is σ phase precipitation in the temperature sensitization of this alloy (e.g., long-term residence at 871 °C), but due to the high chromium content in the alloy and the relatively low content of molybdenum and tungsten, this alloy has good thermal stability.

2.4603Uses of alloys:

The alloy can not only be used in the manufacture of evaporators, for the production and manufacturing process of phosphoric acid resistant to industrial phosphoric acid, but also for chemical equipment and components resistant to mixed acids such as sulfuric acid and nitric acid + hydrochloric acid, nitric acid + hydrofluoric acid in the environment.

2.4603Process performance:

Welding process: HuaNickel 2.4603 alloy has good weldability and can be welded by GTAW, GMAW and electrode arc welding.

Heat treatment: The alloy is solution treated at a temperature of about 1177°C, followed by water quenching or rapid cooling.
