HuaNickel 0Cr18Ni9 is used as a building material up to 1500°F. Slight zooming starts at about 1200°F. 0Cr18Ni9 has a minimum carbon content of 0.04% and a particle size of ASTM 7 or coarse. It has general corrosion resistance similar to mild steel HuaNickel 0Cr18Ni9. However, there is carbide precipitation in the heat-affected zone (HAZ) of the weld. Weldments may be susceptible to HAZ intergranular corrosion and polysulfuric acid stress corrosion cracking in oxidizing acid environments. Carbide precipitation is harmless to high temperature mechanical properties. 0Cr18Ni922Cr 11Ni filler wire (ER308) or overlay electrode (E308) for welding. Most hot jobs do not require post-weld heat treatment.
