PH13-8MoUses of stainless steel:
Aerospace components
Injection molding equipment
components of the petrochemical and nuclear industries
PH13-8Mo Process performance:
Heat Treatment: 13-8 stainless steel can be used under annealed conditions, also known as solution heat treatment conditions or condition a. Treat at 1675-1725°F for 15 to 30 minutes. Air-cooled or oil-quenched below 60°F to achieve complete conversion to martensite. Aging typically begins at 950-1150°F, depending on the desired final performance. Heat treatment is usually carried out in air. The heat treatment of brazed components can be carried out in an inert atmosphere. Atmospheric reduction should not be used because of the possible presence of nitrogen pollution.
